About "Bear Ridge" Gatlinburg Chalet

Every bear in the Smokies would love to hibernate in a home like this and we just know you’ll love it too. Located just off Ski Mountain Road, this 2 level chalet is minutes from downtown Gatlinburg and Ober Gatlinburg ski resort. A rare find in the Smokies is spacious parking and at Bear Ridge you have a fairly level surface and room for several cars. When you enter the home a short foyer leads you to the main living area. This expansive area swells to your left and right and includes a game area and living room. Directly in front of you the far wall of the home is filled with windows allowing for plenty of natural light. Combine this with the cathedral ceiling and you have a true sense of space. You can step through the patio doors out onto the upper level deck to enjoy your beautifully wooded surrounds. Especially nice are the winter view from this chalet. Back inside a pool table sits in the center of this space with the fully furnished kitchen around the corner to the left. To your far right the main living area is ready to entertain with matching sofa and loveseat, gas fireplace, TV (with cable, VCR, and DVD), and adorable black bear décor. The stairs will lead you down to the 3 bedrooms. One features a two twin beds and its own TV and stereo system while the other is right next door and has a queen sized bed and its very own gas fireplace. The master bedroom features Queen size bed and TV. Two bedrooms have direct access to the lower level deck which is where you’ll find the home’s hot tub. Even better, downstairs is where you’ll find the home’s Jacuzzi room. This room is mirrored on three sides for a hypnotic touch you won’t soon forget. There are 2 full baths and a half bath in the home to ensure the needs of you and your guests are fully met. Also, don’t forget that a stay at this chalet entitles you to pool access at the nearby clubhouse (in season).

Great Family Vaca

by from Cincinnati, OH

Great chalet that was very convenient to the Gatlinburg Strip and also the chalet pools. The cabin balconies offered great views and the hot tub was perfect at night offering a beautiful view of the stars! The pool table was a great entertainment piece for the few days of rain we experienced.

Wonderful Stay

by from Saint Louis, MO

The Cabins was great for our family vacation!!! The hot tub and Jacuzzi room were perfect. Nice and quit area close to everything. There were some ants in the kitchen that were a pain but it is in the woods!

Response from Management

So happy to hear you enjoyed your stay! I will have pest control do an additional spray for ants, sometimes spring in the mountains can be interesting! We hope to see you soon! - Beth

We enjoyed our stay at Bear Ridge. The Pros to the cabin were excellent hot tub, view, inside furnishings, and large amount of space for 4-6 people. Cons or improvements- Need 6 chairs in the dining area instead of 4. Kitchen needs to be updated. Countertops have cracks and appliances are old.

Excellent honeymoon experience!

by from Apt # C5, OH

My husband and I can not say enough about the cabin! Everything was perfect! We had a great time playing pool and enjoying the hot tub. The gas firepaces with timers were perfect! No wood or kindling needed, just turn on the timer and enjoy the fire. Alhtough it rained we had great spots on both decks where we could still be outside and enjoy the beautiful mountain scenenery. We will definitly be back!

Great Time!!

by from Greenbrier, TN

We had a wonderful time during our Gatlinburg vacation! The location of Bear Ridge was excellent! A very short distance to the Parkway, Ober Gatlinburg, and all three club houses with pools. We will definitely be staying there again!!!

We enjoyed our stay at Bear Ridge. It was fully equipped to meet our needs. The cabin was clean when we arrived and exactly as the photos were online. Hope to return soon.

Nice vacation

by from Yoakum, TX

We spent a week in Gatlinburg on a family vacation. This was also our first time visiting Tennessee, so we were not exactly sure what to expect. The area was beautiful, but be aware of biting gnats. I was nervous about driving (we are used to endless miles of flat terrain), but luckily the cabin wasn't too far up the mountain and the driveway was easy to get into and back out of. The cabin was the right size and gave plenty of room for our family of five and the pool table was fantastic. They keyless entry was a definite plus and any problems we had were promptly addressed by very friendly maintenance guys. We thoroughly enjoyed the rocking chairs and the porch swing. Overall, it was a great family vacation place.

This was our first time to rent a cabin and I was a little uncomfortable doing it on line without seeing the cabin first. When we arrived the cabin was just as it appeared in the pictures on the web site. As we were driving to Gatlinburg my daughter and her friend kept saying how they hoped to see a bear while we were there and I encouraged them but told them not to get their hopes too high. As we drove up a bear actually walked out of the back yard of the cabin and crossed directly in front of our car, they were ecstatic!!! Then driving to the pool another bear crossed in front of them and stopped just off the road so they were able to see it up close. We had a fox visit and a racoon who came every night we were there. We had a blast and will definately be coming back to stay with you all again. Every one of the staff were great and all my questions were answered promptly & with great courtesy. I felt as if they cared about my vacation and that our enjoyment mattered to them which sadly isn't very common today. I have already recommended your company to several of my friends and told them how great you all are!!!! Thanks again!!!!

Everything was excellent and in place.

This cabin was perfect, the jacuzzi, hot tub were flawless. The only bad thing about the cabin was It didn't have internet. The house is located in a big hill (like 10 minutes up), I suggest drive a SUV like we did, because if I had taken the minivan with six passengers and full of bags, perhaps I could not get to the cabin. First time in Gatlinburg TN, the place is perfect for a family vacation, full of activities for all ages. Definitly I would stay in this cabin again. Thank you Mountain Rentals of Gatlinburg.

great value

by from Folsom, LA

The location was great, convenient to Gatlinburg and skiing. The only drawback was the hot tub did not work. The service workers were prompt to assess, but the owner needed to approve repairs and it was not repaired before we left.

Response from Management

I am so sorry about the hot tub issue you had, it is now corrected and we appreciate your understanding. We hope you will return and enjoyed your visit to Gatlinburg.

Bear Ridge

by from Hanceville AL, AL

We stayed at Bear Ridge during the first snow of the season. It was so beautiful! The cabin was nice and cozy with the gas fireplaces and was up in the mountains enough that we got a couple of inches of snow. The road to the cabin was tricky but even with the snow we didn't have any problems. We didn't get to use the air hockey table as it was broken but we used the pool table quite a bit and enjoyed it a lot. The master bath was awesome, I loved the cedar paneling. I would definitely stay here again!

Response from Management

Maintenance did find the Air Hockey table broken and it is being removed. I do apologize for the inconvenience this may have caused. I hope you enjoyed our early snowfall and we will see you soon! - Beth

Good with minor reservations

by from Atlanta, GA

We enjoyed this cabin. The living space is fine and large, as is kitchen. Deck is good, though views are only of trees in the back yard. Hot tub is small but OK. You walk downstairs from entrance and living area to access bedrooms. This area is very constricted. The bedrooms are moderate in size and reasonably comfortable beds. BUT hot tub is immediately outside king size bedroom and switches on and off very regularly right through the night... enough noise to wake us up! Enormous bathroom next door to this bedroom, really rather weird with mirrors all round. Very small bathroom serves the other two bedrooms. In spite of other reviews, provided it's not icy, this cabin is easily accessible up steep but good quality roads. I am glad there were only three of us because of the bedroom space. But it was a nice place and we got it at short notice which was very helpful. Service from the managing company was excellent.

Lots of Space

Nice open accomodations.... Could stand some maintenance .... No view... bummer....

Very clean and neat. We had a wonderful, relaxing time. It was really nice to have access to a pool. You definitely need SUV or 6+-cylinder vehicle for access. The only thing we missed was WIFI access.

Response from Management

We appreciate you coming and staying with us here at Mountain Rentals! Thanks, Brooklyn UPDATE: The owner has installed Wi-Fi.

Bear Ridge

by from Indianapolis, IN

This cabin was perfect for my family of four! Outside view was breathtaking and the cabin came with everything you would need. Forgot to bring a lighter though, so no grilling....The gas fireplaces made the rooms nice and cozy and the pool table definately gave my family hours of competitive, fun entertainment. Getting to the cabin was a steep drive up, so I would recommend an SUV for the haul!

Had a great family vacation. Cabin was great to stay in for the week we were there. Felt at home, had everything we needed. Great view, especially from the hot tub.Would love to come back for our next vacation.

Great fun!

by from Mount Juliet, TN

We had a wonderfule time. 3 kids played on all the "toys." Cabin even had a slot machine. Would definitely go again.

by from sumter, SC

The cabin was really nice but at times we had issues with big ants

Response from Management

I will have pest control do an extra spray. Thank you for taking time to let us know.

Excellent cabin for 3 generation family stay

by from Enterprise, MS

This cabin has it all. Gran and Gramps can enjoy the beautiful new deck and the "tree house" effect. Mom and Dad can enjoy the hot tub, play pool, air hockey, or the slot machine. The kids will be entertained with the Wii. Great location for enjoying the outdoors and mountain history at Sugarland visitors center, the resturant on Ober mountain, or playing in downtown Gatlinburg. Thanks for a great vacation!

What a Vacation!

by from Metairie, LA

My family and I LOVED this chalet. It was even more gorgeous than the online pictures showed. All we can say is that our stay (7 days) was much too short. We are planning to visit again in November with parents and will definatley be contacting mountainchalets.com for reservations.
