Wonderful cabin for our first family vacation!

by from Hardinsburg, IN

Mountain Chalets was a recommendation from a friend and I looked to find something for everyone in the family. I wanted a view, something clean, with a hot tub, wifi, and plenty of room for our family of 5. We were all blown away by the view from this cabin which can still be partially seen from the hot tub. The cabin smelled wonderfully clean, the tub was so clean it was almost slick from the shine, there was some wood outside in case we wanted to build a fire and overall we loved this cabin and would hands down rent it again. If you're wanting a place to stay with everything you'll need to relax and get away, this is the cabin.

quiet and relaxing

by from Greenwood, IN

The mountain views from this cabin were gorgeous. The beds were comfortable enough and the cabin was in overall good shape. The kitchen was decently equiped. The only suggestion is please replace the sofa and love seat because both are very are very uncomfortable. The management service was extremely friendly and tentative to our needs.

Beautiful View!

by from Lake Village, IN

The roads were a little scary for me but the chalet was very well maintained and the decor was cute, country style...very nicely decorated and clean. The hot tub didn't get warm enough until the last day we were there, and the internet wouldn't work but all in all it was a nice place to stay if you are not scared of heights and steep, windy roads.

Response from Management

Anytime you have an issue please call us, so we can correct it. I will have maintenance check the Hot Tub and Wifi. Thanks!

Appalachian Splendor

by from seneca, SC

Our stay at Appalachian Splendor was really enjoyable. The views from the cabin were as advertised and the cabin was also. The only problem there was, was the rubber mat in the shower needs replaced. Other than that the cabin was clean, the beds were comfy and we enjoyed our stay. Well worth the money spent. I would definitely recommend this cabin.

We really enjoyed staying at Appalachian Splendor! Although it was just my husband and myself, this cabin could easily sleep six or eight people. We went by previous reviews about the views and they were spot on. Beautiful mountains views from the front deck, with a bonus of Gatlinburg's city lights at night.Just beautiful! The front deck has rockers, a porch swing and a double rocker. Very relaxing! Everything in the kitchen and baths was/were in working order, great water pressure and the hot tub was perfect. The dryer took quite a while to dry a load of towels....2 hours, which seems too long, but the machines are older models. There is a steep driveway, but I think that is what you will have when the cabin is located higher up on the mountain. On the back deck is the hot tub, picnic table and grill for a relaxing meal. A wooded area surrounds the back. There are bears as one tried to pry off the lid from the garbage can late one night. My husband watched him from the kitchen window. The only thing we would recommend would be to replace the grill. Its condition didn't stop us from using it, but it has definitely seen better days. This cabin is conviently located to the local grocery store, trolley stop and the city's of Gatlinburg and Pigeon Forge. Thank you Mountain Rentals for providing us with a wonderful vacation!! We'll be back and will bring family/friends with us to enjoy another wonderful stay at Appalacian Splendor!

Great cabin. Very clean, very well kept. Enjoyed our stay. Hard to find initially, and very steep driveway. Would definitely stay there again, we had a great time.

Overall, the chalet was wonderful. Great views. The appliances could use an upgrade. The hot tub lights did not work and the buttons had to be pushed several times to get the jets to come on. The driveway is really steep. If it snows or ices up, you will need 4 wheel drive or chains. We would probably rent this one again. Thanks for a great vacation.

Great Vacation

by from Madison, MS

This was our third trip to Gatlinburg and the first to stay in a cabin. I wanted to be in Gatlinburg and we were so pleased to find Mountain Chalets. Their location is great-we passed it every day on the way to the cabin. Our view was incredible and we loved the fire place. Mountain Chalets were great with good information on restaurants and horse back riding. Our cabin had an awesome front porch and the beds were very comfortable. The water pressure in the downstairs shower was awesome and we loved the washer/dryer. The only thing we had any trouble with was the drive way when it rained. It is pretty steep. The keyless entry was also great since we didnt have to keep up with keys. We will definately stay in a cabin from now and will rent from Mountain Chalets.

Great family vacation

by from Calabash, NC

From the moment we checked in, which was easy and efficient we knew we had made a great decision not to stay in a hotel. When we arrived at our rental cabin we were amazed at the splendor of the cabin and the great air hockey table(great for the grandkids and grandparents) and the hot tub on the back deck. The view during the day and night from the front porch was beautiful especially when we were sitting in the rockers or the big swing and looking towards the great mountains. The whole experience was more than we expected and when we return we would definitely rent a cabin again. The only sore spot was the driveway which had washed out at the bottom and made it difficult to get up to the cabin, but we made it up ok each time. Thank you for a wonderful time at Doolywood,Splash Country and the great shops and restaurants we experienced.

Response from Management

The driveway has been repaired and is in good condition, so there should be no issues now. Thank you for staying with Mountain Rentals and we hope to see you soon!

The view this cabin has is a thousand times better than the pictures even show! It was breathtaking! The driveway is the only downnfall for this cabin. You have to turn a sharp angle and go straight up to get up the driveway so I recommend 4 wheel drive. The cabin was beautiful and very clean. I plan on staying in this cabin again because I was in love with it! We spent about 80% of our time in Gatlinburg staring at the mountain view and in the hot tub. =) The staff was very pleasant also!

weekend getaway

by from danville, IL

Loved the mountain view. A secluded cabin with a cute porch swing! We truly enjoyed the fireplace every evening! The driveway is very steep and narrow, making it difficult to turn around and it was too far to back out. The downstairs bed is hard but upstairs bed was great!

by from lafayette, GA

It was very nice and relaxing the view was great would stay again.

Nice time!

by from Kane, IL

The cabin was nice and well situated. The driveway is steep and a little scarry, but we did just fine! My family and I really enjoyed our stay. Couldn't find the pieces for the air hockey table though! But we survived! Very nice view.I enjoyed the privacy and quiet. Will probably stay again.

Escaping the Florida heat!

by from Ocala, FL

We spent 4 nights at Appalachian Splendor. The cabin was great, the scenery was beautiful. The temperature was a great break from the Florida heat. We would highly recommend the cabin to anyone.

Great Time In The Smokies!

by from Keithville, LA

My husband and I took our grandchildren on this trip we had an excellent time and would recommend this cabin it was quite and clean and best of all a black bear saunter up late the second night. The hot tub was clean and inviting. It was just far enough away from the busy sections of town the driveway was a little steep but my van made in fine. We only wished we would have stayed a little longer. The view was nice in the front. The down stairs bed could be improved but overall great place for the price and we would defiantly stay again.

The views from this cabin were beautiful. This cabin was in close proximity to everything. Everything was very clean.

Heaven on earth

by from Shelbyville, KY

If you really want to enjoy the mountain experience, this cabin is the place to be. High up on a mountain top with a beautiful view of the mountains off in the distance and Gatlinburg. Not only could you see the clouds kissing the mountains but actually being a part of it was awesome. The sun shining on the distant mountainside at sunset made them look like they were on fire. The two story cabin was great. Plenty of room for large families even though there were on two of us. Two sleeping areas upstairs with an overlook of the large family room downstairs. Another bedroom downstairs as well as a fully equiped kitchen. There was even a hideabed in the couch in the family room. This cabin would easily accommodate eight people. The large deck out back has a hot tub in a private setting and the long front porch has several rocking chairs and a swing. If you don't mind a steep drive up with limited parking area fitting at most two cars this cabin is the place to be. Lets keep this place our little secret. I wouldn't want it to be booked up next time. Why anybody in there right mind would want to stay in a motel room and pay to eat out when they can stay here and cook what they want, when they want for about the same money and have a great view is beyond me. One last note, this rental cabin is right in the same area as the arts and crafts community. We spent two days just shopping the loop and barely scratched the surface of the number of stores and shops. You can even drive to the nearby park and ride area for the trolley and go anywhere. Either downtown or the arts and crafts loop. I just can't say enough good things about this place. You'll have to see it to believe it.

Appalachian Splendor is the one!

by from Horn Lake, MS

Our whole family loved this unit. I, as the mother, loved the wonderful view and large front porch, the convenience of a washer and dryer, and the two bathrooms. The kids loved the air hockey table. My husband loved the couch and cable TV. It was great having a cable TV in two of the bedrooms also. The decor was charming. Everything was very clean. The hot tub on the back porch is very secluded. The unit also smelled clean. Not damp or musty. I am very sensitive to smell and that is always the first thing I notice. The air conditioning motor fan went out the first night but Mountain Rentals of Gatlinburg had it fixed the very next day. The unit worked fine for the rest of our stay. The staff was very friendly and helpful. No rudeness or unprofessionalism at all. (These days that is very hard to find.) A word of warning: do not put out the trash until you check out as the animals will get into it every night! After two days, I just kept it inside the cabin. The drive up to the cabin is not for the faint of heart! The last 100 feet is very steep. None of us wanted to leave. My husband, when we were locking the door to leave, said "Good bye little cabin!" and my husband is very hard to please when it comes to accommodations! This is a wonderful cabin!

May we suggest
