Family Vacation

by from Galatia, IL

We had a wonderful, relaxing time at this location for our family vacation. The balcony was my favorite part, listening to the river was so relaxing. This was the perfect spot to spend quality time with our children before our oldest son heads off to Marine boot camp in the near future. We will use this location again as it was very clean and comfortable.

Roaring Fork River Chalet

by from Remlap, AL

We were beyond pleased with our stay. The Chalet was spotless and it had everything that we needed. The sound of the river right below the house was so soothing and just made the stay even more enjoyable. You won't be disappointed staying at this Chalet. We will be going back.

Excellent Cabin

by from Red Boiling Springs, TN

The Roaring Fork River Chalet was such a great cabin to stay in. We absolutely loved the cabin's set up. The sound of the river was so relaxing. It was close enough to town which was very important in my search. I would definitely stay in this cabin again.

Good location, excellent service

by from Livingston, LA

While the A/C unit did not cool the upstairs quite as well as we would have liked, the cabin was well taken care of and the location was wonderful. It was close to everything in town and right on the river which we all loved. We went to the office to speak to them about the A/C and someone came out to the cabin within a couple of hours. The staff at the office and the service man who came out were all very nice and helpful. This was our second time to rent from Mountainchalets.com and it will not be our last.

The Perfect Cabin

by from Ooltewah, TN

We have rented 3 cabins from Mountain Rentals over the past 3 years and have always been quit pleased. Roaring Fork River Chalet was by far the cheapest one that we have rented and the least up to date, however, I believe we enjoyed this one the most. It is laid out quite nice, was clean, comfortable furniture and has a very nice stream right outside the door that was nice to listen to while relaxing. As mentioned, the cabin is a bit dated, but is well kept up and is clean. The only issue I could mention would be that the driveway is quite hidden in the hilly and winding road, so you must be quite careful when exiting the driveway. we experienced a few close calls. I would suggest backing into the driveway for the safest exit. I would rent this cabin again without question.

Roaring Fork River Chalet

One of the other reviews said the interior was dated and I agree. However, the river, proximity to downtown and the overall ambience made this our best rental experience ever. It was amazing to sit out on the deck and drink coffee in the morning and evening. The sound of the river running and the mountain air were very conducive to a great night's rest. The Mountain Chalet's staff are the best ! We rented this place on their recommendation and we couldn't have been more pleased. Sharon & TJ, we can't thank you enough.

Nice little place with a river in the front yard. The interior is a little dated, but clean. The best part is, it's very convenient to downtown Gatlinburg. This is a great little place for the money. I would definately rent again.

We love this chalet! We have stayed here several times and it is a perfect fit for us. It could use a few updates but overall we are always pleased with our vacation to Roaring Fork. We love the sound of the river in front of the house. And we also like how close it is to all the activities of Gatlinburg and Pigeon Forge. We will continue to visit this great house in the future.

Roaring Folk Chalet

by from Liberty township, OH

The chalet was very nice. It was clean upon arrival. Very easy to rent and keyless entry made access and arrival convenient. The fold out couch bed, however, needs a new matress. Other than that, nice place. We had a wonderful time.

Response from Management

I will have housekeeping check the sofa bed. I am glad you enjoyed your time with us in the Smokies!

Weekend Getaway

by from Tazewell, TN

Four of us went away for a two night stay at the Roaring Fork River Chalet. The hot tub and arrangment of the house is what sold us on it in pictures. However, after arriving there, we realized the pictures didn't do justice to the weekend. Some of the chalet is a little dated, but everything is super clean and cozy. We spent the weekend primarily at the cabin, just enjoying the ourselves. The kitchen is set up nicely and we prepared our meals there instead of going out. The first night there it snowed while we were in the hot tub which made it perfect. The river sound and the chalet were perfect for relaxing and we would definitely choose to go there again if we take a trip to Gatlinburg!

Roaring Fork River Chalet

by from Bel Air, MD

We love the area and the river noise. The unit could use some updates though. The TV is so little in the big living room. The hot tub was fine for me, but my husband thought it should be a stronger current. The service was excellent. We had to call about the hot tub not working and the maintenance person got there quickly and fixed it.

Response from Management

Thank you for your review and I will let the Maintenance Manager know that you received prompt service. We hope you enjoyed your stay and visit soon!

The cabin itself is not bad. The river runs in front of the cabin not in back, so the porch with the chairs, hot tub, etc is quite visible from the road, which is fairly busy. If you are looking for something isolated, this isn't it. The inside of the unit is okay, except the beds, particularly the one in the downstairs bedroom. It really needs to be replaced, and there is no curtain on the window so the streetlight is in your eyes while you are in bed. There is cable and 2 small TV's. The kitchen was clean and well equipped. Overall it could be a good alternative to hotel rooms...as long as they replace the bed.

Response from Management

Thank you for your review! I will have housekeeping check the beds and look into adding a curtain. I hope you enjoyed your stay! Thanks, Beth Moncier

Great location, needs work.

by from Liberty Township, OH

We love the location right on the creek and close to everything. The unit needs some work, updating, etc. The beds are not comfortable. It could certainly use a bigger television. But we will be back there next year because of the layout and location.

My family and I booked this place a week before staying there. We wanted to go snow skiing in Gatlingburg and found these cabin on the internet. It was really easy to book a place the week before. The staff were very helpful. The lodge was a very nice place to stay for the weekend. My family and I would definately recommend this house to anyone that wanted to just get away from the hektic work life that everyone is use to. This was myself and wifes first time to Gatlinburg and we are from Wilmington, N.C. and we met some friends from Edmond, Okla. We stayed at the Roaring Forks River chalet and it was so magnificent there for Thanksgiving 2008 and right below our chalet was a creek and one night we were standing outside and saw 2 otters playing in the water. It was the best time we have ever had and are looking forward to staying at the same place in the near future. Thank you for a wonderful first time.
