A comfortable wooded retreat is just what this cozy 2 bedroom log home provides.

Out on the front porch a 2 person swing and rocking chairs add a country touch to this already picturesque log home. Inside, this home excels at providing simple comforts that everyone can appreciate with more than enough space to accommodate any unexpected guests. The living room is made more spacious thanks to a vaulted ceiling while log cabin walls add a rustic touch. The living room is furnished with a wood-burning fireplace and TV/VCR, stereo and sofa sleeper. The fully furnished kitchen shares floor space with the living room, creating a connected feel to this area of the home. The dining room table sits in front of the patio door that leads onto the back porch. This is a great spot to relax and enjoy the afternoon, either from the 2 person swing or the patio furniture provided. There’s even a charcoal grill. The master bedroom is on this floor and features a king size bed and a private full bath with shower. This room has an inviting Jacuzzi tucked away in one corner, waiting for just the right moment. Upstairs in the loft the second bedroom has a queen size bed and out in the hall a full bath. Downstairs, on the home’s lower level, is a spacious game room with an additional queen bed. In one corner of this long room resides a pool table. Across for the bed is an entertainment center where there is another TV for everyone to enjoy. The patio door opens out onto the lower level deck where the home’s hot tub is sure to attract all the home’s guests at one point or another.

If a rustic retreat is what you seek, don’t overlook the creature comforts of this inviting gem of a chalet. With all the extra space, this home is ideal for the group that expects a few last minute additions to their numbers.

Squirrel's Nest Thanksgiving Family Vacation (Sarasota, FL) - 11/28/2011

The cabin was exactly pictured on the website. The only problem with the cabin was the parking. It is a bit of a challenge to park on the sloped driveway, but we were easily able to solve whatever problems were caused by that. The basement was considerably colder than the rest of the house, so a small electric space heater might be a good addition, but overall, the entire stay was wonderful. Our family of 8 had a great time using the pool table, the hot tub, and enjoying the fireplace. If you are looking for a cabin with all the modern electronic devices and access, look elsewhere, but if you want a place for the family to get closer and enjoy time together, you found an excellent location.
