Description

High atop Ski Mountain sits this amply furnished 3 bedroom chalet. Overlooking downtown Gatlinburg and the surrounding mountainside, privacy and rural seclusion are the order of the day.

You enter in the living room where a vaulted ceiling and special touches such as matching red leather sofa, loveseat and lounge chair, and a wood burning fireplace placed in the center of the room really set the home apart. The living room also has the benefit of an entertainment center stocked with a TV/VCR and a DVD player, great for keeping you and your guests entertained. This space opens into the fully furnished kitchen and dining room, which in turn leads out onto the wraparound rear deck that has a picnic table, charcoal grill, and a great view of the surrounding mountainside. The main floor of the home has 2 bedrooms: one of which is smaller with a queen size bed with a small 13” TV and another which is larger with a king size bed and its own TV/VCR. This room also has a a private full bath with a Jacuzzi tub that’s sure to please. The rest of this floor is serviced by the full bath located in the nearby hallway. Downstairs you’ll find a variety of entertainment and relaxation options, beginning with the home’s own sauna. This is a great way to wind down after a busy day of sight seeing or a night on the town. Downstairs is also where the spacious game room is located, complete with a pool table, foosball table and a second wood burning fireplace. There’s also a sleeper sofa and a wall mounted TV. And don’t forget to stock the full bar also found in the game room with all your favorite drinks. If that wasn’t enough you can step through the sliding glass doors out onto the lower level deck and take advantage of the home’s hot tub. Downstairs is also the location of the home’s third bedroom, a generously proportioned space with a king size bed and an additional TV/VCR. In the nearby hall is a separate full bath and the home’s laundry facilities.

If a mountain escape is what you seek then this home, with its lofty location and abundance of creature comforts, is sure to please.

Mary's Beauty in October 2011 (Nashville, TN) - 10/24/2011

Once we arrived and unpacked we strolled around and explored the massive "cabin". The property is very well maintained and comfortable. Everything worked and we enjoyed our stay. The view is wonderful and it is very quiet and peaceful. No bears visited us. Lots of chipmunks darted around. The HVAC maintains a very comfortable environment. The deck had lots of acorns but the oak tree overhangs an area. All the appliances are in good condition and we used them. The beds were softer than those we have but we did sleep all through the night. The driveway caused us pause until we were able to check it out. It angles down to the property abruptly as you might expect on a mountain side. This is to be expected and I decided to back our van down into the parking space while my son, in a car, was able to make a hard right and park next to the van. While the cabin is very neat and tidy it has a very high ceiling in the den and there are some cob webs in the clerestory. Again, to be expected. We loved the stay and have never been disappointed with the service and rentals with mountain chalets.
