You’ll feel welcome in the Smokies when you arrive at this one bedroom cedar cabin, thanks to the waving bear flag and bear wreath on the door. It is located near the Gatlinburg Arts & Crafts Community, and is decorated in a bear, moose, and fishing theme. Upon stepping inside, you’ll find yourself in the living room. There is a sofa, loveseat, and chair upon which you may rest and watch the TV with DVD player, or just relax in front of the gas fireplace. The kitchen is fully equipped so you may cook while you’re here, and there is a small table for 2 at which to enjoy your home-cooked meals. The master bedroom features a Queen-sized bed and an expansive bed frame, plus a TV with a DVD and air hockey table. Adjacent to the bedroom is a large room dedicated to the red heart-shaped whirlpool tub, which is surrounded by mirrors and greenery. There is also a dart board in this room. The cabin’s bath room (shower only) is attached to this room, and houses the washer/dryer. Off of the bedroom you may also access the small, private courtyard, where you’ll surely want to take a dip in the hot tub, recline in the two chairs or sit at the picnic table after using the charcoal grill.

Even if you don’t see a real bear while you’re here, you’ll feel like you were among them after staying in this cabin in the Smokies.

The Bear Footin Cabin (Keymar, MD) - 11/1/2009

My husband, myself and our 2 dogs stayed in this cabin, over all it was really nice although it rained all but 1 day we was there. The Cabin is really in walking distance to some of the craft stores, only about 1-2 miles from a main highway and pretty straight roads. Draw back is cell phone and internet service is almost non-existance it is low in the hills and there is no view. But a great place to walk your dogs. The heart shaped wirlpool tub is great and was very relaxing.

Anniversary Trip Again (Georgia) (Brooks, GA) - 6/29/2009

This is the second year we stayed in this cabin. Last year we had a bit of trouble with the hot tub and had to call for maintenance. He came quickly and repaired the burnt wires on the tub. At that time we expressed that the tub was in disrepair and needed to be replaced due to the lack of temperature control ( too hot ,too cool) . When we called this time and spoke to the office they assured us that the hot tub was operating properly and would be ready for us to enjoy. (I am an electrician and own a hot tub) Upon arrival it was too cool so I turned the temp up. It worked ok for a while then tripped out on over heat. I could go on about the fact that I found corroded batteries in the dart board, or the fact that the air hockey table had an inch of dust on it and the air would not pass through the holes but that would be negative. I must truthfully say that I had a good time because I was with the one I love and was in the mountains. The beds, chairs and décor was great. The kitchen was supplied well except for salt. I would even consider staying there again if the hot tub was changed out.

Response from Management:

Thank You for your review! The owners were informed of your review & the Hot Tub was replaced today 7/24/09. I am so sorry that you had problems with it during your stay. I have also contacted the Head Housekeeping regarding the dust so they may address the cleaners. We value our guests, so please call us anytime you have a cleaning/maintenance issue so we may reclean the home. Again, I do apologize & hope you will consider staying with us in the future. - 7/24/2009
