The weather in Gatlinburg has been Spring like (highs around 60 and lows around 40) complete with birds chirping and daffodils blooming. I want to bask in the sunshine and frolic through the fields! The warm weather has created a perfect setting for hiking in the Smoky Mountains and taking in the beauty of our area. I have also enjoyed what will be the last few days of "Winter Magic" in Gatlinburg as it ends on February 28th. If you can't make it to Gatlinburg before the lights have been whisked away until next season, visit our live webcam. The webcam is focused on the Gatlinburg Parkway for a great view of the lights at night and all of the activities during the day.
Ober Gatlinburg is still going strong with 7 slopes open and a 20"- 41" base. I personally have not been skiing (lack of coordination), but I pass snow bunnies everyday that can't get enough of the wind in their face as they race down the Black Diamonds. If your not a skier there are other activities at the resort for all to enjoy. An indoor ice skating rink, black bear habitat, go carts, shopping and bungee fun are some of the options you will have while visiting Ober. I must suggest a tram ride as it is one of America's Largest Aerial Tramways and a wonderful experience with great views!
