Smoky Mountain Riding Stables - Gatlinburg TN is an established horseback riding
stable. It has been in operation for over 20 years. No experience is necessary to
ride. All horseback rides are great for beginner through advanced riders, with beautiful
wooded scenery and mountain streams. 40 head of well trained & experienced mountain
trail horses makes for a fantastic ride. Their sizes range from 13 to 17 hands tall
to meet the needs of all our riders.
Due to the natural Great Smoky Mountains National Park terrain, the guided horseback
rides are at walking pace.
Additional Horseback Riding Information
About 550 miles of the Park's hiking trails are open to horses. There are five horse
camps:
- Anthony Creek
- Big Creek
- Cataloochee
- Roundbottom
- Towstring
Use of the horse camps requires a reservation. Reservations can be made by calling
Toll Free National Park Reservation Service at 800-365-2267 or via the Internet
at http://reservations.nps.gov. The Park also has five commercial stables within
its borders. They are open from approximately mid-March through the Thanksgiving
season.
