Description

Are you arranging a getaway for your group but nervous about finding a place that will please everyone? If so, you owe it to yourself to consider this deluxe 3 level, 4 bedroom, 4.5 bath log cabin. This home is one of Mountain Rental’s premier properties, featuring an extra measure of comfort and a charm all its own.

Far enough away from Gatlinburg to make your vacation feel like a retreat but not so remote as to be inconvenient, this home is nestled in a serene spot looking out upon the Smoky Mountains. On the way, you’ll pass the trail to Misty Falls, a pristine natural waterfall. Outside you’ll see the newly landscaped surroundings, reminiscent of frontier surroundings with a bright red pump handle well in front of the porch. Inside you’ll be captivated by this delightful blend of rustic and contemporary throughout the home. This home is a spacious affair, with 3 levels as opposed to the usual 2 found in most 4 bedroom cabins.

This newly built cabin features all log construction both inside and out. The interior is decorated with a mixture of naturally finished wood and selective use of textured wall paper. Roman blinds on the windows add to the distinct personality of the home. The real highlight however is in the way this home has incorporated its frontier forbearers. A barn originally built in Loudon, TN was dismantled and the same antique wood was used to line the lower level game room and design the upstairs half bath.

You enter on the upper level of the home, through a front door with stained glass window, to the main living room. This level is furnished with hardwood flooring throughout, extending through the kitchen and master bedroom. The living room has a convenient gas fireplace and an extra large wrap around couch. Above the fireplace is a mounted caribou adding to the home’s frontier quality. Also here is a TV/DVD/VCR for you and your guests’ enjoyment. Nearby is the dining room table, hand crafted locally from the same wood used in the lower level game room. This large table comfortably seats 8. Adjacent to the living room is a spacious, fully furnished kitchen with lots of open floor space. There is also a island with matching stools. The upper level is also home to the home’s unique half-bath, affectionately dubbed the “indoor outhouse.” This room blends old and new by lining the walls with original barn wood and replacing conventional light fixtures with hanging lanterns, electric of course. The sink takes the form of a miniature pump handle as well. Don’t worry though, everything still flushes.

On this level is the home’s master bedroom. It features a king size bed, private full bath, cable TV and stained glass windows throughout the room. This room, as in all the bedrooms, has beautifully finished dressers and nightstands. There is also space devoted solely to the room’s large Jacuzzi. Located just outside the bathroom, this luxurious Jacuzzi is an attractive addition to the room residing in a specially tiled area and with large pane of stained glass just behind.

The middle level is devoted to the 2 bedrooms found there, each featuring king size beds and beautiful sleigh style bed frames. Each bedroom has access to a large private bath furnished with marble tile. Outside the bedrooms in the common area you’ll find stylish bunk beds and a sleeper sofa at your disposal. On this floor you’ll also find the home’s generous laundry facilities.

The lower level is where we find the game room furnished like an antique barn with authentic wooden walls and a tin roof overhead. This room is where you’ll find the full sized pool table and surround sound stereo system. On this floor you’ll also find the fourth bedroom and, down the hall from the game room, the home’s sauna. Constructed entirely out of cedar planks this sauna is sure to be a treat. Across from the sauna, there also is a fourth full bath for the lower level.

Each level of the home has a rear deck and the decks are accessible from the mid and lower level bedrooms as well as the living room and game room. The middle level deck is where you’ll find the home’s hot tub. The upper and lower decks feature patio furniture and other, more down home furnishings like rocking chairs and handmade deck chairs.

Combining all possible comforts, a unique charm and an ideal location, Wolf’s Den really does have it all. If your group expects the best vacation experience possible then look no further, this cabin is the destination you seek.

Great Cabin for Retreat

I work with college students at my church, and I booked A Wolf's Den for our Spring Break Retreat. It was perfect for our needs. Ten of us enjoyed the cabin and were more than pleased. The game room and pool table were a big hit, and the hot tub was a great way to unwind after a day of enjoying the mountains. The beds were all extremely comfortable - the best I've experienced in all of my cabin rentals. The kitchen was more than adequate for preparing large meals. The top deck's rocking chairs and table offer a perfect view for breakfast as the sun peaks over the mountain crests. We were extremely happy with our stay at A Wolf's Den, and my group has already voiced their vote to stay there again next year.

No need to try another cabin

This Cabin had it all and then some. My whole family united at this cabin and the 11 of us were very comfortable with the cabin and the space. We enjoyed it all. We got to share a memory of the Cardinals Baseball Team (we are from St. Louis) win the world series in the basement game room together! Had a blast and will return again sometime hopefully soon.

Mountain Madness racquetball tournament

We stayed in this cabin over the weekend while playing in the annual Gatlinburg racquetball tournament. We had a blast playing pool, lounging in the hot tub and melting in the suana! The cabin is in great shape and we were very satisfied. The location was a plus for us as it was only 10 minutes from the rec center. The keyless entry worked perfectly and we liked not having to check in at an office. Also, the website pictures were very accurate and we were not disappointed when we arrived.
