Description

Located adjacent to Kear's Mountain Splendor, this home is great for couples wanting to vacation together but retain separate accommodations. As for the cabin itself, hand hewn pine logs and a perfect scenic spot make this cabin hard to beat.

The Kear family built this cabin on their family ridge in order to share part of their Smoky Mountain heritage with everyone. From here almost the Tennessee side of the Smoky Mountains can be seen, stretching from Mount Cammerer in Cosby, TN to Mount Harrison (Ober Gatlinburg Ski Resort)/Cove Mountain in Gatlinburg, TN. Stepping inside you'll appreciate the added intimacy of the open floor plan and added charm of the naturally finished wood surfaces that extend from top to bottom. A vaulted ceiling with plenty of windows lining the front of the home creates a cheery living space. In the rear of the home there is a fully furnished kitchen and a dining table perfect for 2. The home is furnished with a full bath. Outside on the deck is where you'll find the hot tub and the spectacular views this home has to offer. Back inside, the home's king size bed awaits with a beautiful stacked stone gas fireplace right at your feet. Nearby is the home's heart-shaped Jacuzzi, a perfect spot for a soothing evening alone or with someone special. In between these two spaces is the sofa and TV which features satellite and has a VCR: perfect for keeping entertained on a rainy day. A stack washer/dryer is also here for your convenience.

Kear's Mountain Magic (Jonesborough, TN) - 1/5/2012

We did have a wasp in our room one night and found a bug crawling in our bed. I know it's out in the woods, but we had all the doors and windows locked and closed. Jordan LOVED the shower. He said he didn't want to leave cause all of it was amazing. We were in awe when we first walked into the cabin. There really wasnt any way to park safely at the cabin. We had to park right next to the house, but I feel like someone could have hit us very easily if they were staying at the house next to us. I had thought it was secluded, as in no houses around, but it wasn't, but we were ok with it when we got there because of how beautiful the view and the cabin was. The jacuzzi was amazing, but we had a hard time fitting both of us in there comfortably. All in all we had an amazing time stayin there and we definitely would stay there again. I loved it and so did Jordan. Well worth the money.

All of our rentals are on monthly pest control treatments, but occasionally you will encounter a few insects. I have contacted pest control to check the home. Parking can be tight at some of the homes, but there has yet to be any issues. Next time please call one of our reservationist if you are unsure of the location of a property - they all know the properties well and can assist you. If you are online the Virtual Tour is helpful as well. We are so glad you enjoyed your stay and we do hope you return to Mountain Rentals soon!
