This beautifully restored 2 story log home is authentically constructed of original logs and located in the nicely wooded Timberidge area.

On the front porch you’ll find a hand crafted frontier porch swing; inside you’ll find the décor exudes genuine country charm. On the lower level you’ll find the first of 2 bedrooms, this one with a queen size bed and private full bath. There’s the kitchen, fully furnished, and the dining room, with a quaint 4 seat dining table and a simple brass light fixture over head. The living room has a stone fireplace (wood-burning) and a TV/VCR. From here you can step out the patio door onto the rear deck to admire the outdoors or soak in the hot tub. There is also deck furniture (with a rocking chair), a gas grill and a 2 person swing.

Upstairs in the loft is the master bedroom. This room is expansive and cozy all at once with its king size bed, country quilt bedspreads, and simple bedside nightstands. There is also a full bath and a TV/VCR for your convenience.

Throughout this home you’ll find simple touches that take you back to an earlier time. Whether you’re looking to escape back to the past or discover it for the first time, this home provides an ideal place to do just that.

Our family wanted to stay longer.... (Flemingsburg, KY) - 10/2/2009

We stayed at Sweet Potato Patch with our two 7-year olds. ALL of us had a wonderful experience!! Although there were a few very minor issues (soft floor in downstairs bath, faucet problems in upstairs bath, temperature control trouble with upstairs shower), we couldn't have been any happier with Mountain Rentals and this cabin. It really was like coming "home" each day of our 7-day vacation. Sweet Potato Patch was comfortable, cute and SO peaceful. The staff was very professional and helpful, too. We took advantage of the horseback riding coupons and rafting discounts offered through M.R. and had a blast! We will definitely rent through M.R. again....probably this same cabin again, especially if our kids have their way.

Response from Management:

I have given your issues to Maintenance and we are so glad your family enjoyed Sweet Potato Patch! - 10/2/2009

Very nice cabin. Really cozy. Loved the decor. Would love to stay in this cabin again.

Sweet Potato Patch = Sweet Memories (Richmond, KY) - 7/2/2009

My wife and I were married in 2006 and honeymooned with Mountain Rentals and we thought it only fitting to come back and stay again with Mountain Rentals for our 3rd Anniversary. We choose Sweet Potato Patch for a few reasons. One, being seclusion from other cabins; two, value for the dollar, and third, this unit had a gas grill. The photos and description on the website did not do this unit justice. The location is absolutely secluded from other cabins. We had complete privacy while at Sweet Potato Patch, our evenings only occasionally interrupted by the headlights of passing cars on Jess Field Road. The amenities this chalet offered were very worth the money spent. I was a little disappointed to not see a flat screen TV or two in this unit, and was even more disappointed by the midget-sized shower in the downstairs bedroom. The size of the upstairs bathroom more than made up for the "smallness" of the downstairs bathroom, with a spacious tub/shower and large sink area. Probably the two most disappointing things we found with this unit were (1) a major ant problem downstairs, and (2) the gas grill not working. My wife and I went to the local market and bought chicken breasts and steaks for the grill, and when we prepared for dinner that night, we found that the grill didn't work at all. The problem was a clogged igniter. I called Maintenance after hours and left a voicemail asking if someone could come by the next day and take a look at it and see if we'd be able to use it at all. I was very surprised to receive a call back an hour later from the evening maintenance crew explaining what I'd have to do to get the grill working. They were even kind enough to bring me a brand new, large automatic lighter for the grill. They were unable, however, to resolve the ant problem before we left for home. My wife and I purchased several ant traps but those little buggers seemed to know exactly what they were and wouldn't go anywhere near them. They appeared to be coming in through a crack in the wood near the kitchen sink window. The ants were confined to the kitchen sink area, with a very heavy infestation in the early mornings. Lastly, the tin roof and mountain setting made for a very entertaining night on June 30 all the way into the wee morning hours on July 1. A very rough thunderstorm rolled through the area, shaking the earth and pouring untold amounts of rain on the roof. The sound effects were wonderful but the wife didn't care too much for the earth shaking thunder. All and all, I rate our stay in this cabin 4.5 out of 5. We would definitely consider staying in this unit again.

Response from Management:

We do have the homes on a monthly pest control program and I have contacted them to do an additional treatment at this home for ants. Thanks for letting us know and we hope to see you soon! - 7/6/2009
